The Value of the Study of the Book of Daniel: 1. It reveals that God is active in history, that we are not left alone in this world to fend for ourselves. We may have our difficulties and trials, but we are not left subject to every whim and fancy of those around us. 2. It shows that God supports the righteous and punishes the wicked. We are not puppets of chance. 3. It relates experiences that could well be repeated in our day. The book challenges young people to be like Daniel and his companions. 4. It assures us that God will destroy evil, even though He may, in order to reveal its true nature, allow it to pursue its wicked purposes for a time. 5. It promises the breakthrough of God's eternal kingdom of peace and righteousness, and with its appearance, the triumph of all the righteous. G. Arthur Keough has been a missionary, administrator, educator, and minister. Currently professor emeritus at Columbia Union College, he has authored a number of Sabbath school lesson quarterlies and the books Infinitely Happy and Our Church Today.
