The long journey into freedom that Israel began the night they left Egypt finally came to an end at the banks of the Jordan. On the other side lay the land God had promised them. Home at last! To wander no more! But that journey has never really ended. The Israelites never did fully enter the rest God intended for them. Spiritually, they continued to wander. Here is the story of a people like us. The Exodus is our story—yours and mine. But it's God's story too. He never stops loving His wandering people.
