Under His influence the world reversed itself and went down new pathways of faith. With solutions of startling newness in outreach and witness, the early band of Christian believers won enormous victories, because the Spirit went between them and the world. Jesus had said, “Tarry ye in the city of Jerusalem, until ye be endued with power from on high" (Luke 24:49). He had spoken of the Spirit at work in the world: “And when he is come, he will reprove the world of sin, and of righteousness, and of judgment" (John 16:8). The band in the upper room found how true that was. The Spirit is the “In-between God," the one who goes between, mediating, enabling, persuading. The discerning eye acknowledges that the world still survives only because of Him. The book of Acts is the story of the Spirit at work in men and women, in the church, and in the world. It is a story that is still going on today..Примечания о наличии в документе библиографии/указателя: Includes bibliographies.Наименование темы как предмет: Holy Spirit -- Biblical teaching Тип единицы: Книги
